Before joining his father in the family business he spent a year travelling and working in Australia and New Zealand. He now lives in a 17th Century cottage in the village of Troutbeck, Cumbria. He is married to Jill and has two daughters, Josephine and Meghan.

After serving 2 years national service his first photographic break came, as a photographic assistant in the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. It was not until after various photographic jobs that Vic and his wife Pauline decided to set up their own business, taking landscape photographs and marketing them.
In the early days of the business, Vic also had a studio and produced jigsaw and greeting card subjects for children.
Vic and Pauline live in the picturesque Troutbeck valley in the Lake District.

He Moved to Troutbeck at the age of 3 and was educated at Heversham Grammar School. Most holidays were spent with his family following his father around the country with his camera.
At the age of 18 he went to Worcester College of Higher Education and graduated with a Geography/Sociology Degree. He worked at various jobs in Sussex and took photographs of the South coast whilst he was there. He has 2 sons, Samuel and Louis and now lives in Backbarrow, Cumbria.
